WE ARE ALL LISTENERS
LISTENING TO PROTECT OURSELVES
Just as there are viewpoints, there must be listeners; the first one is in the process of disintegration in the Tingo María National Park.
DISCOVERSOUNDSCAPE PROTECTION THROUGH LISTENING
Changes in the soundscape can indicate alterations in the environment, such as biodiversity loss or environmental threats. With technology, we can record and analyze these frequencies to monitor ecosystem health.
Our latest built listening artifact consists of three 'ears' of different sizes that allow us to listen to different types of natural sound ranges.
- The largest ear was designed to listen to major geophysical sounds, such as rivers, waterfalls, winds, moving trees, as well as mammals with long-range vocalization.
- The medium ear useful for contemplating the vocalization of mammals, birds, short-range sounds like human voices, and everything within 2 to 3 km.
- The small ear serves to contemplate smaller and more granular sounds such as insects, whispers caused by the wind, and everything around the listening point.

IF THERE IS LIFE, THERE ARE SOUNDS.SOUNDS PIERCE AND TRANSFORM USTo take care of ourselves, we first have to listen to each other; there is no empathy possible without honest listening.

PHYSICAL AND REAL
Everything that has life vibrates. The listener is made of organic materials like wood, mats, and steel that the jungle is slowly reclaiming.
MEDITATIVE SPACE
The space presents itself as a sound bath to recalibrate our sound perception. We suggest taking 5 deep breaths.
SOUND FRAGILITY
We urge a more compassionate way of relating to our environment. Being a listener means having compassion and finding beauty in the soundscape.
